1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PDF Suite ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PDF Suite is an online platform provided by Function Labs that allows users to upload, convert, edit, sign, merge, split, compress, rotate, reorder, and analyse PDF documents using AI technology.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• One person may not maintain multiple accounts.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, infringing, or violates the rights of others.
• Use the Service to process malicious, harmful, or copyrighted files without permission.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or compromise the Service.
• Use automated tools to overload, disrupt, or abuse the Service.
• Share your account credentials with others.

5. File Handling

• You retain full ownership of all documents you upload to the Service.
• Your files are processed on our servers to provide the requested features.
• We do not claim any ownership rights over your documents.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process the documents you submit.
• Files may be temporarily stored on our infrastructure during and after processing.
• Guest files (uploaded without an account) and temporary processing outputs are scheduled for automatic removal within one hour.
• Saved files are retained until you delete them or delete your account.

6. AI Processing

• The Service uses artificial intelligence to analyse, summarise, and answer questions about your documents.
• AI-generated content may not be perfectly accurate and should not be relied upon for legal, medical, or financial decisions.
• AI features use third-party providers (including Google, Anthropic and OpenAI) that may process your document content or extracted text.
• We do not knowingly use your document content to train our own models. Third-party provider training practices are governed by their own policies.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, branding, and software, is owned by Function Labs. "PDF Suite" and "Function Labs" are trademarks of their respective owners.

8. Limitation of Liability

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Function Labs is not liable for any data loss, document corruption, or damages arising from the use of the Service.
• Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
• We are not responsible for the content or accuracy of AI-generated outputs.

9. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms.
• You may delete your account and data at any time.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

12. Pricing and Subscriptions

• The Service offers a free tier with no account required, limited to 3 tasks per rolling 24-hour window and a 25MB file size limit.
• Selected PDF conversion and OCR tools are available on the free tier for PDFs up to 3 pages. Other tools may have their own clearly displayed free limits.
• Paid plans include the PDF Day Pass (£2.49 one-time for 24 hours), Pro Monthly (£5.99/month), and Pro Annual (£39.99/year).
• Paid plans unlock unlimited tasks, higher file size limits (50MB), no page limits on any tool, and access to AI and editing features.
• No account is required to purchase a PDF Day Pass or a Pro subscription. Access is tracked using a combination of your IP address (hashed) and a browser fingerprint.
• Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.
• If you cancel a subscription, you retain access until the end of the current billing period.

13. Payment Processing

• Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. We do not store your card details on our servers.
• Stripe handles all payment authentication, card processing, and secure storage of payment methods in accordance with PCI-DSS requirements.
• We receive your email address, payment status, and subscription metadata from Stripe to manage your entitlement.
• Refunds are issued at our discretion. Full refunds revoke premium access immediately; partial or goodwill refunds do not affect your subscription status.
• If a payment fails, your premium access may be paused until a successful payment is received.
